Sharon Thompson is a masters level therapist with the specialized education and training which equips her to help people with relationship problems. She works with couples, individuals and whole families. Relationship concerns can be the lack of a relationship, lack of connection, unproductive communication patterns, pursue and withdraw habits, unhealthy conflict resolution skills, anxiety or depression.
This is a second career for Sharon. Her previous career was as an Electrical Engineer. She brings a wide range of life experiences into the therapy room.
Sharon has great respect for those who seek out mental health counseling. She understands it is not always an easy endeavor, but she knows it can be a rewarding one.
What does counseling involve?
Sharon believes psychotherapy offers an opportunity to make the shift to living in more satisfying, resourceful ways. Through dialogue we will build skills, solve problems and change behavior in constructive ways.
In therapy we may focus on addressing specific past or present problems, develop deeper personal awareness, work through inner conflicts, or improve specific relationship struggles or hurts. These relationships may be marital, intergenerational, professional, or spiritual. Sharon also works with clients who have experienced loss and grief and provides practical ways to understand and negotiate painful emotions.
